The Milwaukee Fatherhood Initiative (MFI) engages local fathers with support to enhance their relations with each other and their families, and to increase opportunities in the community. A collaborative community service that gives a distinct voice to fathers, it was home from a two-day training session conducted in October 2005 by the National Fatherhood Initiative at the request of Mayor Tom Barrett. The first effort of the MFI was organizing a city wide Fatherhood Summit in October 2006. It drew more than 1,200 participants, more than four times the expected turnout, and quickly became the centerpiece event of the MFI.

Fatherhood Connections

Starting in November 2019

This is a space an opportunity for all fathers/father figures to come and share their successes and struggles with other fathers. Fatherhood is not an easy road to travel and we can grow as men and as fathers by being transparent in our journey. We hope that these "Connections" will help fathers to heal, trust, and mentor one another to have healthier and stronger relationships with their children and families.
